Game #2: Dallas Stars vs New York Rangers Open Thread

After getting the brakes beat off of them in our nation’s capital last night, the Rangers are back in action tonight. A quick turnaround will culminate in tonight’s home opener against Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, and the rest of the Dallas Stars, who will be kicking off their season tonight.

While the game against Washington featured a heavier lineup and Alexandar Georgiev in net, Gerard Gallant’s group will look a bit different tonight. Igor Shesterkin will get the start in goal for the home opener, and the Blueshirts are hoping a lineup with a bit more skill can help them earn their first victory of the season.

Player to Watch: Nils Lundkvist

After being named the top rookie in training camp and sitting out the season opener in favor of Jarred Tinordi, Lundkvist is set to make his Broadway debut tonight. The 2018 1st round pick was selected using the Tampa Bay Lightning’s selection acquired in the Ryan McDonagh trade, and Lundkvist will be donning the #27 formerly worn by McDonagh and most recently worn by Jack Johnson. Skating on an all-Swedish 3rd pair alongside Patrik Nemeth, keep an eye on Lundkvist as he skates in his first meaningful NHL action tonight.

Enjoy the game!
