Oklahoma native Reba McEntire's new album, "Revised Remixed Revisits" reimagines several of the country superstar's most iconic songs.

Among those is the 1993 hit "Does He Love You." The song was co-written by a longtime collaborator of Liza Minnelli years earlier. The lyrics focus on two women who are in love with the same man but are left to wonder which one of them the unfaithful man truly loves.

The chorus goes as such:

But does he love you (Does he love you)
Like he loves me? (Like he loves me?)
Does he think of you (Does he think of you)
When he's holding me?
And does he whisper (Does he whisper)
All his fantasies?
Does he love you (Does he love you)
Like he's been lovin' me?

'Does He Love You' has been reimagined by artists like Patti LaBelle, but Reba McEntire sang the original

Minnelli would release her own version of the song in 1996 with Donna Summer and Patti LaBelle did her version the following the year, but McEntire made the song famous when she sang it alongside Linda Davis.

Davis was a traveling vocalist in McEntire's road band at the time and the pair's song went to No. 1 on Billboard's hot country songs following its release. The song also won a Grammy for “Best Country Vocal Collaboration,” and a CMA Award for “Vocal Event of the Year" in 1994.

Fast forward to 2021, and McEntire is re-releasing the song with none other than Dolly Parton singing the duet. Before we get to that, you can watch McEntire and Davis in the song's the original music video here:

Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton have sung together before but never like this

McEntire and Parton have been making music for decades, but their "Does He Love You" collaboration is actually their first.

"It's amazing that we've never done a duet," McEntire recently said of her longtime friend. "We've never (sung) together. I've gone on programs to sing for her, and she's done that for me. But to never sing a song together is kinda weird."

McEntire told The Tennessean that spending the day filming the song's music with with "Dolly Parton is just as you would imagine."

"We laughed, we talked about family, and COVID, and friends, and the business, and how grateful we are that we're still doing what we get to do."

The updated track is part of the "Revisited" collection on McEntire's new album. Unlike the original music video, which features a male actor as the man in the love triangle, McEntire and Parton are only seen debating their love over drinks inside an empty bar.
