Five-star basketball recruit commits to Arkansas
Five-star basketball recruit Jordan Walsh announced Thursday that he plans to attend the University of Arkansas.Walsh said he is excited to play for Arkansas."They're crazy," he said of the fans. "I love it."Walsh is the 7th-ranked overall prospect in the country according to ESPN. He currently plays for Link Academy in Branson, Missouri. He transferred there from Oak Cliff Faith and Family in Texas.He is the second five-star recruit to commit to playing for the Hogs. Nick Smith from North Little Rock announced his decision last month.Walsh made the announcement on Instagram with ESPN's Paul Biancardi.He is in the class of 2022, meaning he can officially join the Hogs next fall.Season HopesArkansas' celebrated red-white game is set for Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, at Barnhill Arena.The red-white game is a scrimmage with eight-minute quarters. It's free and open to the public. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the game starts at 2.The season itself starts Nov. 9, 2021, with a home game against Mercer.The Razorbacks will seek to carry forward momentum from last season. The team advanced to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament and ended up ranked No. 10 by the Associated Press. That was the first time Arkansas had finished in the top ten since 1995.The team won the National Championship that year.
