GoDaddy, eBay Partner to Ease Postings for SMBs

Website-hosting company GoDaddy has teamed up with eBay to make it easier for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) that work in online retail in the United Kingdom to advertise products through the auction service, TechRadar reported.

The new offering will let GoDaddy users post products to eBay “with no additional add-ons or plug-ins needed,” according to the report.

GoDaddy Head of United Kingdom and Ireland Operations Ben Law said in the report: “Small business owners can have their own online store with GoDaddy, as well as sell their products and services via additional outlets too, so they are visible to more people. The new integration with eBay makes it easier and quicker for busy business owners to keep track of, and manage, orders all from one central place.”

GoDaddy and Instagram announced a similar integration about three months ago, the report stated. GoDaddy customers in Canada already have similar functionality for posting products on eBay and Amazon stores.

Two weeks ago, GoDaddy announced it had expanded its GoDaddy Payments platform by offering two point-of-sale (POS) devices.

The first device is called the GoDaddy Smart Terminal and is geared toward use by brick-and-mortar businesses.

The second product is a card reader for easy use at locations such as farmers’ markets. The device, which works for swiping or tapping, can operate a full day on one battery charge.

“GoDaddy’s new point-of-sale offerings supercharge our customers’ ability to sell anywhere and grow,” GoDaddy President of Commerce Osama Bedier said in the announcement at the time. “We’re on a mission to enable small businesses with the most powerful yet easy-to-use commerce solutions at an unbeatable value. And we’re just getting started.”

GoDaddy said the new offerings are possible because of technology the company acquired from Poynt in December.
