BRUCE NATHANIEL THACKER

Bruce Nathaniel Thacker, 73, of Wise, went home to be with Jesus on October 12, 2021, after fighting a courageous battle of Alzheimer’s.

He graduated from JJ Kelly High School and attended The Spirit of Life Fellowship Church. After 25 years of working at VICC, he retired and raised cattle, where he enjoyed caring for them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of his life.

Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Freeda Thacker; father, Junior Thacker, sister, Brenda Davis and husband Kenneth; mother-in law, Lucille Miller and father-in-law, James Miller.

Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years Sandra; son, Scott Thacker and wife Amy; daughter, Rebecca Ramey; grandchildren, Adrian Thacker and wife Taryn, Alyssa Jessee and husband Paul (Turtle) and Caleb Thacker; great-grandchildren, Dakota Jessee, Leighanna Jessee, Calvin Thacker and Benjamin Thacker; brother, Terry Thacker; sisters, Mary Margaret Thacker and Dian Gilliam and husband Eddy; special friends, Joe Tate, Jimmy Hall and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Bruce Thacker will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 15, at the Sturgill Funeral Home chapel in Wise with Pastor Robin Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in the Skeens Family Cemetery Wise. The family will receive friends from noon till time of services at the funeral home.
