NYC funk party band We Thee Funk will set sail from the Big Apple on Saturday, October 23rd for the first annual Funk Float aboard The Cosmo, presented by Rocks Off.

The afternoon excursion on the East River will push off at 3:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, 10/23 (doors at 2:00) and return to the dock at 2430 FDR Drive at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are now available here.

This collective of New York musicians formed out of a regular open-jam series, Oli’s Flop House, which still occurs monthly at DROM NYC. The next two editions will take place on October 20th and November 17th, respectively. For more information on Oli’s Flop House, head here.

We Thee Funk, the 12-piece funk outfit that coalesced out of those spontaneous sessions, has played consistent shows in New York since then, amassing a steadily growing following of local fans with creatively elongated takes on classic funk tunes.

True to its open-jam origins, the group’s lineup is constantly evolving. Funk Float attendees will get to witness an ensemble featuring guitarists Lenny Stein and Eddie Arjun Peters, keyboardist Dan Purdom, bassist Chris DiNardo, drummer Oliver Burkat, tenor saxophonist Seth Eisenstein, trumpeter Bryan Walters, trombonist Pablo rodrigues, and vocalists Brittany BeckettJae Miles, and Lee Herman.

“We are so excited for our Inaugural Funk Float on the Rocks Off Concert Cruise,” says WTF drummer and Oli’s Flop House founder Oliver Burkat. “This is a floating funk party that you are not going to want to miss!”
