Anna Henderson wins British time trial title
Jumbo-Visma rider tops Lowden, Dixon
Anna Henderson (Jumbo-Visma) claimed her first elite national title at the British Road Championships time trial on Thursday.
The 22-year-old topped Hour Record holder Joscelin Lowden (Drops-LeCol) by 56 seconds, with Leah Dixon (Tibco-Silicon Valley Bank) in third.
"I was surprised by my victory because the level of the riders was high today", Henderson said.
"I am thrilled. Together with my coach Marieke I had made a good pacing plan. It was tough, but I just kept going on the climbs and tried to recover a bit on the descents and technical sections. I am very proud of this performance. Now I will try to recover well for the weekend and then I will go for it again in the road race."
