It was all set to be Logan Webb against Julio Urias as the San Francisco Giants squared off against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a Game 5, winner-take-all NLDS contest.

Instead, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled the rug out from underneath and dropped a bombshell on Thursday.

While this could mean many different things, the most likely outcome is that Corey Knebel will work as the opener and Urias will get the bulk of the innings for the Dodgers.

However, with Urias getting a full rest between starts and coming off a 5-inning performance against the Giants earlier in the series where he only yielded one run, does this spot really warrant an opener?

Perhaps the thought is that the Giants will stack righties at the top of their lineup and Roberts is trying to offset that. If that's the case, let the chess match begin.

Urias has been brilliant all season for the Dodgers and is a legitimate Cy Young candidate. The lefty finished the season with a league high 20 wins opposed to just three losses. He pitched to a 2.96 ERA in 185.2 innings of work for LA.

It makes the decision all the more puzzling as to why Urias wouldn't just start the game in general and let Roberts save Knebel for the backend of the game. He's not working on short rest, pitched well against the Giants the first time around and has been magnificent all year. Either way, the Dodgers are the first to shake things up in this Game 5, winner-take-all matchup that should be a classic.
