Aisha Tyler has been involved in The Walking Dead universe since she directed the Fear the Walking episode “J.D.,” in season six. Now she is also directing for the second spin-off series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond and will star in season seven of Fear TWD. Now, add to that, she will be a guest on Talking Dead on October 17.

Tyler has a long-spanning career as an actress, comedian, director and talk show host. She hosted Talk Soup in 2001 and went on to The Talk for a seven-year span, where she was awarded an Emmy for her work.

She is known for her role on Criminal Minds, where she also directed.  Other roles you may remember include Archer, XIII: The Series, Ghost Whisperer, 24 and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

As if all that isn’t impressive enough, she has also written several books, including her memoir Self-Inflicted Wounds.

The Walking Dead Universe

Fear the Walking Dead: After directing an episode in season six, Tyler will now play a character named Mickey in season seven. We don’t know anything about the character yet, and it’s unclear which episode she will make her first appearance in, so we will wait and see. The trailer shows Tyler shooting at someone, so it will be seen if she is a friend or foe.

The Walking Dead World Beyond:  She directed two episodes for The Walking Dead: World Beyond’s second season, also the final for this series. The coming of age apocalypse story from the first season is gone, and a new, more experienced group is featured in season two. After all they have been through, they have learned a thing or two about this new world they find themselves in. Tyler directed the third and fourth episodes, “Exit Wounds” and “Family Is a Four Letter Word.”

Talking Dead: Tyler will make her debut on Talking Dead on October 17

She is a welcome addition to TWD Family, and it will be exciting to see what else she directs in the franchise.
