Capgemini Acquires Government Solutions Provider VariQ

Capgemini is acquiring federal government solutions provider VariQ. Financial terms of the deal, which is pending U.S regulatory approvals, were not disclosed.

VariQ, founded in 2003, provides software development, cybersecurity and cloud services for federal government departments and agencies across the United States. VariQ also has M&A experience. The company acquired Rivet Logic in 2020 to support commercial clients.

VariQ will tuck into Capgemini Government Solutions LLC. The government-focused business unit, formed in 2002, is based in Mclean, Virginia. The deal is expected to close before the end of 2021.

In a prepared statement about the deal, Jim Bailey, CEO of Capgemini’s Americas strategic business unit, said:

Capgemini has been active on the acquisition front. Recent purchases include Microsoft Azure cloud partner Empired Limited and Australian SAP partner Acclimation.
