The 27-year-old defenseman confirmed the agreement before the Islanders' season-opening game at the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; TVAS, BSSO, MSG+, ESPN+, NHL LIVE). He could have become an unrestricted free agent after this season.
Pulock scored 17 points (two goals, 15 assists) last season playing all 56 games and led New York in time on ice per game (22:26). He scored six points (four goals, two assists) in 19 Stanley Cup Playoff games for the Islanders, who were eliminated one round from the Stanley Cup Final for a second straight season. New York lost in seven games to the eventual champion Tampa Bay Lightning in the best-of-7 Stanley Cup Semifinals.
"For me, I just wanted to really be able to focus on this season and kind of clear my head of that (contract talk) and focus on what we need to accomplish here, and it's really exciting for me," Pulock said.
Pulock is part of New York's top defense pair with Adam Pelech, who agreed to an eight-year contract with the Islanders on Aug. 6.
Selected by the Islanders in the first round (No. 15) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Pulock has scored 125 points (33 goals, 92 assists) in 290 regular-season games and 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 55 playoff games.
