The Circle G Angus Ranch in Adel has been ranked as the third-largest in registering the most Angus Beef Cattle in Georgia by the American Angus Association. The rank was calculated during the fiscal year of 2021 which just ended on September 30th.
General Manager of the Circle G Ranches, Karl Halbig, says they currently have 850 heads of cows and will try to maintain that number consistently throughout the year. The number is expected to fluctuate during their selling seasons which are in the spring and the fall but he says they continue to maintain high numbers because those are also breeding seasons as well.
Halbig says they just celebrated 50 years in the business last year and they are currently in the rebuilding phase right now and this achievement reflects their progress,
“We are kind of in a rebuilding phase at this current moment. So, this is kind of a reflection of us rebuilding and we are certainly proud to be recognized in the state of Georgia and happy to be continuing forth with that” says Halbig.
Halbig also says there is a lot of competition in the area being recognized on this platform lets them know they are moving in the right direction.
“There is a lot of competition in the Angus business and there is a lot of great breeders in Georgia. We consider them all friends and are here to support each other. We like to see other breeders do very well and it is a very mutual feeling.”
Halbig says they always plan five years in advance to stay ahead of the game and in the future, they hope to continue to stay ranked in the state of Georgia.
