Stomping in with a cinematic new single, globetrotting troubadour Sara Rachele has emerged with “Heartstrings,” the title track from her upcoming album, out November 12th via Ropeadope Records.

A carriage of indie rock winding through clouds of Americana dust, it’s the first we’ve heard from the Peach State-bred musician this year (who now splits time between New York and her farm church in rural Tennessee).

While she’s always displayed a wiseness beyond her years, “Heartstrings” finds the singer-songwriter sparkling with a more confident patina than ever before.

Big Takeover is pleased to host the premiere of “Heartstrings” today, a rich and vibrant track that features a kicky tempo, dark bass line undercurrent, curling and patterned guitar lines, a shifting drum pace, and Rachele’s beguiling vocals that sound like a cross between icons Kate Bush and Stevie Nicks.

“This one was recorded in London with my English band,” says Rachele. “My late best friend Waylon Elsberry helped me do pre-production work in Atlanta, and we used her arrangement of my tune on this record. She really molded me into the artist that I am today, and I still write to try and impress her. It was a special time sorting out how we wanted the feeling of the song to go — and one of the last times I was able to work with her before she died.”

“I wanted to bring the tune to London and we rehearsed it and then recorded it live in Kensington. It became a song that grew out of the initial pre-production sessions in my hometown, and it was special to see it grow up like that with players across the globe. “Heartstrings” is about all of the almosts and nevers, and the community that holds us lovers together. It’s about waiting around, lingering, and just leaving the door open.”
