(670 The Score) Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is 20-5 in the regular season in his career against the Bears, a fact that has made him a villain in the eyes of Chicago fans who have suffered plenty of heartbreak due to his talents.

While that animosity exists, Rodgers shared his appreciation for Chicago fans as his Packers (4-1) prepare to visit the Bears (3-2) at Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon.

“I don’t think they’re extremely happy with me,” Rodgers said of Bears fans on Wednesday, according to the team’s website. “They’re not very cordial most of the time, but I respect that. I mean, I respect that it’s a great sports town. They got two baseball teams, a basketball team that I grew up cheering for. I don’t know how it was for you guys, but when I was growing up, one of the few channels we had on TV was WGN. So you got to watch Cubs baseball and some Bulls basketball games. You naturally became a fan because I was a big sports fan and that was the only thing on TV.

“I’ve always enjoyed the city, enjoyed the fans even though they haven’t really enjoyed me. That’s fine. I get it. Maybe there will be a little more love when my time comes to an end playing here, but I do have a lot of respect for the city and the sports fans they got there.”

Rodgers was also asked whether he could ever envision himself playing for the Bears when his time with the Packers comes to a close, as he had a tumultuous past offseason in airing grievances with the Green Bay organization. The question was probably a more appropriate one a year ago or so, as the Bears drafted quarterback Justin Fields in April and have turned the reins over to him, but Rodgers slammed the door nonetheless.

“No, no, no,” Rodgers said. “It’s just not going to happen.”
