Cubavera makes their mark on Calle Ocho during Hispanic Heritage

Cubavera Celebrates Hispanic Heritage on Calle Ocho this 2021 and forever

The Cubavera brand has been representing Cuban Culture for decades so it's no surprise that they chose Calle Ocho as the perfect place to leave their footprint this year during Hispanic Heritage.

What are we celebrating?

In. 1989 President George H.W. Bush became the first president to declare the 31-day period beginning on September 15 and ending on October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month. This national celebration honors the history, culture, and influence of past generations who came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.

Are you Hispanic? Do you want to preserve art, culture, encourage the entrepreneurial spirit and at the same time have a good time connecting? Just jump in, and don’t lose this unique opportunity to celebrate “Hispanic Heritage Month” on Calle Ocho.

Come and celebrate with Calle Ocho News, check out how and when!

Why and when did we start our tradition?

Little Havana is proving to be Miami’s fastest-growing neighborhood so why not celebrate what it is all about with us? This is an opportunity to socialize safely, dance, and be in fellowship with community members that all want to celebrate the same thing. We began this yearly tradition in October of 2019 when we celebrated our Community Champion Awards by honoring many “Community Champions” not to mention our top “Champion” which was Commissioner Eileen Higgins.  In 2020 we had to unfortunately through no fault of our own not uphold our tradition due to the pandemic. This year we have a lot to celebrate, and we want you to join us.

This year’s event is called “Milestones” because it’s through “Milestones” that history is made. We have lots of surprises in store to share with you so come and join us but please remember that to attend you MUST register on Eventbrite.

On October 15, 2021, from 6 PM to 10 PM you can come to “EL CALLEJON DEL GALLO” next to The Havana Collection located at 1421 SW 8 ST Miami, FL 33126, which is the new CUBAVERA building, and join the community to eat, dance, eat, mingle safely. Maybe even go home with some prizes while we celebrate Hispanic Heritage.  Some of the Milestones we will be celebrating are murals, an anniversary, the latest Little Havana Book edition, donations, etc. so why ruin the surprises and tell you here when you can come and find out for yourself? You might even win something!

The purpose of this event is to celebrate community milestones made possible by local artists, and business owners. Calle Ocho has a lot of history behind it so why not be a part of “History in the making”. After all Calle Ocho, which is the Miami badge of Hispanic Culture, is what it is today because of the people behind it. Many people, companies, organizations, and individuals have been a part of our community for a long time and others just got here but one thing is for sure and that is that we are all “CONNECTED”.

This year we choose the Hispanic Cultural Arts Center to donate some of the proceeds to because we believe that it is through local partnerships such as these that we can contribute to our overall growth.
