All-American tight end Oscar Delp made his commitment and he’s going to Georgia instead of Michigan, according to 247Sports.com. Michigan was one of the finalists along with South Carolina and Clemson.

The 6-foot-5, 225-pound four-star tight is a Georgia native, the nation’s No. 97 overall prospect, No. 3 tight end, and No. 9 overall recruit in the state for the Class of 2022, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Delp explained why Georgia was the better option instead of Michigan and the other finalists.

“I just think this is the best place for me,” Delp said to 247Sports. “I had that gut feeling the entire time I was there and I really loved what I saw from the tight end position at Georgia. I think Georgia has the perfect offense and environment for me to thrive in.”

For the Class of 2022, Michigan is currently ranked No. 16 nationally and No. 3 in the B1G.

Next up for No. 9 Michigan after its bye week is a home matchup vs. Northwestern on Oct. 23.
