Jon Jones denied he struck his fiancee during a September incident that ended with the former UFC light heavyweight champion arrested on a domestic violence charge in Las Vegas.

"I love how people are imagining the worst possible situation in their heads and making it somehow factual," Jones tweeted Wednesday, directly addressing his arrest for the first time. "I never hit my fiancee, and our daughters were woken up after our confrontation. My daughters didn't see or hear us arguing."

On the morning of Sept. 24, hours after his fight with Alexander Gustafsson was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, Jones was charged with misdemeanor battery domestic violence and injuring or tampering with a vehicle.

Police were called to the Caesars Palace resort after a security guard noticed blood on the lips and clothing of Jones' fiancee, Jessie Moses, according to the police report.

Moses told officers that Jones touched the back of her head and pulled her hair "a little bit" but did not hit her.

Police observed blood on Moses' shirt, around her lips and chin, and on the bedsheets in their hotel room.

Jones added Wednesday that he plans to quit drinking alcohol.

"Looking forward to moving forward without alcohol," Jones wrote. "It's the first time in my life where I'm actually ready to quit. Glad to have the support of my fiancee, family, friends, and fans."

The 34-year-old is temporarily suspended from training at his longtime gym, Jackson Wink MMA, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in wake of his latest legal troubles.

Jones' next court date is set for Oct. 26.
