AMD have officially confirmed that Activision's upcoming WW2 shooter Call of Duty: Vanguard will feature their FidelityFX Super Resolution.

High frame rates are unquestionably important in Call of Duty games if you are a player with competitive nature. Higher refresh rate and FPS usually provide a much smoother experience, allowing you to react quickly which ultimately helps you to turn those super close encounters in your favour.

To help boost your framerates, Sledgehammer Games are implementing AMD's open-source tech FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), an upscaling technique similar to Nvidia's DLSS. FSR can offer up to 2.4X better framerate in certain titles and while we do not know if the improvements in Call of Duty Vanguard will be that significant, it's safe to expect a proper boost, just like in games that have implemented the tech like Resident Evil Village, Deathloop or Godfall.

AMD Call of Duty Vanguard has been added to "Coming Soon" titles

While Activision are yet to officially announce whether Call of Duty Vanguard will feature Nvidia DLSS, our guess would be that both FSR and DLSS will be there from day one. If it happens that DLSS is planned to be added in post-launch updates, Nvidia GPU owners can always turn on AMD FSR, since it's supported on all cards, even the older ones like GTX 1060.

Call of Duty Vanguard will be coming on November 5, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
