VIDEO: Knife-wielding thief targets seniors in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are searching for a man wanted in several robberies across Manhattan this month in which seniors were targeted, including an 82-year-old man who had a knife put to his throat.

Just before 7 a.m. on October 4, the suspect approached a 71-year-old man in the vicinity of Central Park West and West 64th Street on the Upper West Side and threatened the victim with a knife before forcibly removing $250 dollars, authorities said.

The suspect fled on foot, officials said.

At approximately 7:40 a.m. on October 6, the suspect approached a 66-year-old woman inside of a Chase Bank located at 498 7th Avenue in Midtown and threatened the victim with a taser before attempting to forcibly remove money, police said.

The suspect was unsuccessful in taking any money or property and fled on foot, the NYPD said.

Minutes later at around 7:50 a.m., the suspect returned to the Chase Bank located at 498 7th Avenue and approached a 47-year-old man inside and threatened him with a knife before forcibly removing $200 dollars before once again fleeing on foot, authorities said.

On October 7, at approximately 5:40 a.m., the suspect was on a blue bicycle when he approached an 82-year-old man who was driving a vehicle in front of 133 West 44th Street in Midtown, officials said.

According to the NYPD, the suspect put a knife to the victim’s throat through the driver's side window and forcibly removed $500 dollars.

The suspect then fled on the blue bicycle westbound on 44th Street.

There were no injuries reported in any of the incident, police said.
