Earlier in the week, on The Greg Hill Show, Ty Law said he believes Cam Newton would be better for the Patriots right now over Mac Jones.
On Merloni & Fauria Wednesday, Rodney Harrison was asked about that take and he completely disagreed.
“No, absolutely not,” Harrison said. “I mean, why would (Newton be better)? I mean, nah, nah, nah — not at all. … I got a lot of respect for Cam and what he accomplished and the standard that he set in this league. But, at the end of the day, the Patriots did the right thing because now they’re letting a young player play, get these valuable reps.
“And just imagine, all these reps, if he hadn’t got these reps. Then he wouldn’t be where he’s at right now. And this is a guy that can be your franchise quarterback for the next 10 to 15 years. Coach Belichick absolutely did 100% the right thing. He got rid of Cam and he’s sticking with this kid. This kid is really impressive.”
Jones is coming off his first come-from-behind win of his pro career against Houston and will face Dallas at home this week.
