Four people were arrested after breaking into a Winston-Salem apartment while armed with a gun. It happened Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. That's when Winston-Salem police officers responded to the shooting on the 700 block of Scholastic Court. Upon arrival, police were told that the suspects left the area in a black Nissan Altima. Responding officers found the car and completed a traffic stop. Police say four suspects, identified as Reginald Williams; Leroy Streeter; Tamir Best; and Allen Little, were all located inside the car.Officers at the apartment spoke with 38-year-old Cara Copeland, who told police three men entered the apartment and one had a gun. Copeland said she went into a back bedroom where Allen Wilson was located.According to police, Wilson shot at the suspects in self-defense. The suspects then quickly ran out of the apartment. Police say two of the suspects ran out of the front door and one jumped off the third-floor balcony. "The suspect who jumped off the balcony sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a local medical facility. The suspects drove from the apartment complex, but WSPD officers caught up with them a short time later and arrested them," a news release said.The suspect’s gun, located at the scene, was reported stolen in Greensboro, police say.No one was injured due to gunfire."The Winston-Salem Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in this case.
