One more time, Russia reveals its duplicitous, hypocratic nature. On one hand it proclaims that there shouldn't be any "interference" from "non-regional powers" (ie the United States & others intent on enforcing the post WWII international set of norms & behaviors). On the other, it prefers only "regional" countries be involved in the South China Sea controversy. Meaning, since China is by far the dominant player in the region, Russia supports China's internationally refutted claims all the while paying lip service to the universally accepted guidelines governing international relations.

"As war threat looms..."??? No, the war threat doesn't loom...it isn't distorted, exaggerated or impending. The war threat EXISTS. If anything "looms", it is war.
