Top Fuel Dragster pilot Artie Allen has withdrawn from the upcoming race at the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway in Bristol, Tenn. His season has come to an end.
In a social media post, he has explained why he shut down his operation before the final East Coast race of the season.
“As Bristol was going to be our last race, we have decided to pull out, meaning our 2021 race season is over in Top Fuel,” the social media post said. “We will be preparing for the 2022 race season with more to come along with some testing. Thankful for all the guys, who worked hard this year with us at every race we went to. Lots was learned through this year and we will use everything to get us to do better next season.”

With Allen no longer participating, 18 Top Fuel Dragsters are now listed on the NHRA’s registration site. That means two teams — and not three teams — will miss eliminations on Sunday.
