With the upcoming general election for mayor in Frederick, there can only be one valid choice and that is to re-elect Mike O'Connor.
No local official has done more in terms of an outreach to underrepresented and disadvantaged voices than Mike. He has taken concrete measures to purchase new police cars, which will not only improve emergency response reliabilities, but should attract the best and brightest applicants to the Frederick police academy.

Yeah we have yet to see any letters supporting him?? For some odd reason a moderate Republican(that wasn't an alleged criminal) didn't even want to try to be Mayor..why? Something is weird in Frederick City? Just another reason to write in Jennifer Dougherty you know she isn't playing us.....we know who she is!
If we don’t feel we know who Michael is, can we all agree that his particular spit of time in Frederick history has weirdly separated us all from interacting in meaningful and informative ways? He would have been approachable, were that a thing. I was kind of amazed he still wanted the job.
Split the vote and the Repub will win.
I am not a fan, but I think MO will get 70% of the vote.
But remember we are voting for the lesser of the 3 evils, not against our morals and ethics, if the republican wins he wins, people don’t often vote against their own ethics and morals?
I mean some do, I can’t! I have to be able to know I voted for my ethics and morals when I look myself in the mirror……
If it were just any ole Republican, maybe, but that is not the case.
More than 50% of Dems voted against Michael.
21% of those were Roger voters. RW voters either undervote or if they do, they don't vote for Michael. They may vote for Jennifer Dougherty just to spite him.
Somewhere around 25% of city voters are Independent.
And, Jennifer Dougherty is the only one who wants to give them voting rights in the primary.
She's the party outsider, so it is likely she could get more votes than Michael.
Add all that to the fact that the Republican candidate is one scary dude.
So either Republicans undervote, or they bite the tough and vote for the Business Woman Democrat, Jennifer Dougherty who does better budgeting our money.
We know who she is. Count another vote for O'Connor.

Like it or not, he is our next mayor.

I don't live in the City, but to blame the mis-management of Montgomery Co. on Robin Ficker makes me question thr author's sanity.
Are you paying attention? How exactly has he done more In outreach than Jennifer Dougherty did with the NACs. Which Michael has virtually ignored.
Writing in Jennifer Dougherty Is the only choice for residents to actually be heard and real outreach.
When has this mayor ever listened?
The only thing I've seen in 4 years is condescension, arrogance and wasteful spending.
The voters have told Jennifer "no" in every mayor's race since 2005, but O'Connor's the one who "doesn't listen?"
Jennifer Dougherty served this community very well. But because she wasn't part of the Good Ole boys and a WOMEN—the Dems that be did EVERYTHING they could to ruin her reputation. (including allowing Ron Young to run against her reelection bid, EVEN THOUGH HE WASN'T A RESIDENT OF THE CITY.) She did much more for the people of this community than Michael has. It's just too bad so many voters vote by gossip and don't even look into everything she accomplished. While at the same time turn a blind eye to everything Michael has mismanaged and ignored.
