JOHN MISIAK

He was born Jan.7, 1927 in Posen to John and Mary (Purol) Misiak.

On Sept. 2, 1946 he married Martha Wozniak at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen. They shared 70 years of marriage before Martha’s passing on Feb. 18, 2017. John began his career as the owner and operator of Johnnie’s Sunoco. During this he also was a bus driver for the Posen Schools for 41 years as well as the bus mechanic for 11 years. Upon retirement from the school and the selling of his business, he then began Johnnie’s excavating until his medical need for retirement. He enjoyed being at the hunting camp and especially being with his family and friends. John was a member of St. Casimir’s Ushers Club, Posen Chamber of Commerce and the Posen Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his children, Marvin (Barbara) Misiak, Dennis (Julie) Misiak, Marie (Mitchell) Wisniewski, Colleen (Fred) Gryniewicz, Kevin (Johanna) Misiak, Laura Idalski, and Alletta Misiak; grandchildren, Carmen (Bryan), Todd (Lisa), Matthew (Kyle), Chad (Tathy), Dustin (Ashley), Ryan (Kimberly), Melanie (Jason), Nicole (Steven), Lisa (Ryan), Gregory (Melanie), Jennifer (Kevin), Tyler (Isadora), Shelby, Nicholas (Janice), and Zachary (Monicca); great-grandchildren, Nathan (Allie), Brittany, Jeremy, Kaylie, Duncan, Ellie, Trevor, Meghan, Lauren, Kirsten, Grace, Abraham, Colton, Casimir, Kynsley, Emerson, Archer, great-great-grandchild, Waylon, brothers, Louie and Floyd Misiak, and sisters-in-law, Geraldine, Louise, and Joyce Misiak.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Eugene, Anthony, Raymond, Gerald, and Mark, sisters, Anna Muszynski and Virginia Niedzwiecki, brothers-in-law, Stanley Niedzwiecki and Michael Muszynski, sisters-in-law, Irene, Doris, and Eleanor Misiak, and son-in-law, Randy Idalski.

Friends may visit at St. Casimir Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. through time of his Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz officiating.

Inurnment will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice or to the family to donate to charities per John’s wishes.
