Ghost Recon Frontline Closed Beta Delayed Indefinitely

Recommended Videos

The official Ghost Recon Frontline Twitter account just announced that the game’s closed beta test is delayed indefinitely. This may not bode well for the future of the game to be having these kinds of announcements this early on. It will be interesting to see how this news goes over with the game’s fanbase.

For those unaware, a trailer was recently released, showing off a first look at the game and gave off an impression of what the game is. From the trailer, it seems to be a battle royale game with an emphasis on stealth, tactics, and communication amongst squad members.

In regards to this announcement via the Ghost Recon Frontline Twitter account, they had a bit to say about the game’s current status.

The developers thought it would be best to postpone the closed beta test in wake of what one would speculate to be issues in the game’s development that may make the game unplayable. It makes sense to delay the beta if the game isn’t playable, otherwise it would only hinder the game’s official launch.

After the disaster that was Ghost Recon Breakpoint, it’s understandable why fans would be a little hesitant to instill trust in the developer in regards to this franchise. The game was a mess, with the only redeemable quality being Jon Bernthal’s performance as Cole Walker. It was buggy at launch, filled with unnecessary content, uninteresting side missions, and it had a very lifeless world despite how massive the map was.

With Ghost Recon Frontline being another battle royale game, it’s understandable why many fans of the series may have been put off since the series is known for its single-player campaign. After all, this is a big new step for the series and a rather bold one at that. With a rather over-saturated market of battle royale games, one would sigh at the thought of another beloved series being transformed into something no one asked for.

While it’s not very likely the game can replicate the success of Fortnite, it very well may surpass expectations due to the aforementioned emphasis on the tactics and communication that the series is known for. For now, we can only speculate how the game will play when we finally get our hands on it.

Ghost Recon Frontline is slated to release sometime in early 2022 and will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S
