American Airlines Flight Returns to Boston After Bird Strike – NBC Boston

A passenger plane returned to Boston Logan International Airport on Wednesday after hitting a bird, American Airlines said.

The American Eagle flight, number 4696, operated by Republic Airways, flew into Reagan National Airport in Washington, DC, the airline said.

The airline landed safely in Boston and was rated by American Airlines’ maintenance staff.

“We never want to disrupt our customers’ travel plans and our team is working to get them to their destination as quickly as possible,” the airline said in a statement.

None of the 76 passengers and four crew members on board the Embraer ERJ-175 were injured.
