Autopsy Shows Gabby Petito Died of Strangulation 3-4 Weeks Ago

The official autopsy results for Gabby Petito’s cause of death were announced yesterday. During a press conference, Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue said Petito’s death was caused by ‘manual strangulation/throttling’, but gave no specifics into the strangulation. He also said the manner was homicide. Blue added that the estimated time of death was about three to four weeks before her body was found in the Bridger-Teton National Forest which matches the timeline of when she last spoke to her family.

The autopsy included a whole body CT scan, an examination by a forensic pathologist, by a forensic anthropologist, and a toxicology analysis. After the announcement, the Petito family attorney said  “while Brian Laundrie is currently charged with the unauthorized use of a debit card belonging to Gabby, Brian is only considered a person of interest in relation to Gabby Petito’s demise”.
