Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit), and Abigail Breslin (Stillwater) have joined the feature film adaptation of Ann Morris’s 1933 book Digging in the Southwest, which is about America’s first female archaeologist.

Abigail Lawrie plays the lead character Ann Axtell Morris, and the movie also stars Tom Felton, Ewen Bremner, James Hillier, Hanako Footman, Wes Studi, Tatanka Means, and David Midthunder.

The story film tracks how Ann Axtell and her husband Earl Morris “excavated the ancient Anasazi civilization in the American Southwest under the direction of Sylvanus Morley. Morris and Morley were thought to be inspirations for Indiana Jones.”

Breslin and Jones will take on the role of Anne and Charles Lindbergh. Fortune-Lloyd will play renowned French muralist Jean Charlot and love interest of the female protagonist.
