It definitely doesn’t sound like Britney Spears will rush to pick up her sister Jamie Lynn Spears’s new memoir when it hits bookstore shelves next year.
Jamie Lynn announced on Instagram earlier this week that she is changing the title of her memoir after backlash from Britney’s fans. The Zoey 101 star was originally going to call her book I Must Confess—a lyric from Britney’s 1998 debut single, “...Baby One More Time”—to Things I Should Have Said. And this sudden name change definitely didn’t escape her sister’s notice.
On Tuesday, the singer made light of her little sister’s title debacle, posting a photo of herself in a sheer catsuit. In the caption of the shot, she joked about how it was very uncool of her to post on social media four times in one day, before cheekily adding, “Great news...I’m thinking of releasing a book next year but I’m having issues coming up with a title so maybe my fans could help !!!! Option #1…‘Shit, I really don’t know’ Option #2 … ‘I really care what people think’ What do you guys think ????”

In July, Jamie Lynn’s publisher Worthy Publishing announced the actress’s forthcoming book with the original controversial title. They later retracted the announcement, claiming that it had been “erroneously released online,” per Page Six. The publisher, which specializes in Christian authors, released a statement at the time that read, “We deeply regret that incorrect and incomplete information about her book has appeared in the public space, particularly at this sensitive time for Jamie Lynn and her family.” The memoir is scheduled to be released on January 18, 2022.
