Crowds on Back 4 Blood Servers; Good Launch on Steam

It seems that the pre-release controversy did not hurt Back 4 Blood. The game received a very positive reception from players on Steam.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Back 4 Blood met with a good reception from players;
  • User reviews on Steam are very positive;
  • At the hottest moment of the day Back 4 Blood was played by over 50 thousand people on Steam.

It turns out that the pre-release controversy surrounding Back 4 Blood did not harm the game. Players have apparently forgiven the developers for their actions aimed at discouraging solo play and threw themselves into the game. What's more, its reception was positive.

Current user reviews on Steam are very positive. Players praise the title for gameplay pace, shooting mechanics and level designs. Many people also paid attention to the graphics and optimization. Almost everyone also speaks positively about the card system, which diversifies the gameplay.

The few negative voices about Turtle Rock Studios' work largely concern the previously mentioned controversies. Players were outraged by the fact that solo gameplay has been significantly truncated. Some also draw attention to bugs and less-than-stellar balance. For some of them the game is also too expensive for the amount of content it offers.

However, this does not change the fact that on the day of release the game launched to some real crowds. According to SteamDB at the peak moment Back 4 Blood was played by over 50 thousand people. The title is also very popular on Twitch. Streams from the game were watched by 217 thousand players at one point. It is also worth remembering that we are talking here only about Steam. The work of Turtle Rock Studios is also available as part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription. So the number of players is actually much higher.

The creators are left to work so that the new fans remain with Back 4 Blood for longer. The game has already had a good debut. Now they have to focus on maintaining interest at the right level.
