Fans have been waiting for the third season of The Mandalorian. It's been almost a year since the season two finale aired and yet it seems like it will take a while before we get to see Mando's next adventure in the galaxy far, far away. Just recently, there were rumors that production for the third season has already started, but now, it looks like it is officially confirmed.

This is good news for fans of the series as it indicates that production is very much underway and we can now speculate on when we will get to see the third season. If you look at the production history of the past two seasons, they usually start filming a year before they air the season. That means it is very possible that the third season will air late next year.

The plot details of the third season are still unknown at this point. During the season two finale, Mando's journey with Grogu ended as the latter was taken by Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 to complete the Jedi training. We can pretty much say that the third season will have a new storyline. The confirmation of Greef Karga's return is an indication that Mando will perhaps continue taking missions, with an aide from Greef.
