The Montana State Nordic and alpine ski programs have name Lizzie Larkins and Pete Petry as assistant coaches. Montana State named, Kris Shampeny, head coach of the program back in July.

The Montana State Nordic and alpine ski programs have both completed their coaching staffs for the 2021-22 season, announced head coaches Adam St. Pierre and Kris Shampeny. Lizzie Larkins joins the Bobcat Nordic program, while Pete Petry will start his second stint as a member of the MSU alpine staff.
Larkins comes to Montana State from Truckee, Calif., where she was the Head Nordic Competition Coach at Auburn Ski Club. In addition to coaching, Lizzie has developed and implemented community-oriented events with the goal of promoting female participation for Far West Nordic.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, she qualified for the 2019 and 2020 NCAA Skiing Championships and served as a Student Athlete Advisory Council ski representative with the Catamount Athletics Department. Larkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and food science and a certificate in integrative health.
Larkins is a Truckee native and raced for Auburn Ski Club in high school, where she was a two-time Nordic state champion and a Junior Nationals All-American. An avid runner, backcountry skier, and mountain biker, she is also a regular content contributor for Gnarly Nutrition writing on the mental side of sport and fueling as an athlete.
Petry, who served as an MSU assistant under former head coach Kevin Francis from 2018-19, rejoins the Bobcat alpine program under the direction of first-year head coach Kris Shampeny.
A native of Rice Lake, Wis., Petry has nearly a decade of coaching experience with local junior programs. A graduate of Rocky Mountain College in Billings, where he skied for the Battlin’ Bears, Petry earned a degree in business management in 2009.
Petry graduated high school and raced in Steamboat Spring, Colo., prior to enrolling at Rocky Mountain.
Both Larkins and Petry have started their duties at Montana State.
