Pelosi is upset the media won’t do her job for her

.

It’s no secret that much of the media’s reporting these days consists of refurbished Democratic talking points. It’s so bad that Democrats feel entitled to such coverage.

Apparently frustrated with reporters’ pointed questions about President Joe Biden’s massive $3.5 trillion spending package and congressional Democrats’ inability to pass it, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just lectured the media for not doing a good enough job of “selling” the agenda for her.

“Do you think you need to do a better job at messaging, and going forward, how do you sell this?” CBS News’s Nikole Killion asked the California Democrat.

Pelosi responded: “Well, I think you all could do a better job of selling it, to be very frank with you,” Pelosi responded. She contended that the media haven’t spent enough time highlighting certain items in the bill, such as family medical leave. She then claimed that “whether they know it or not,” the public “overwhelmingly” supports Biden’s bill.

Someone ought to remind Pelosi that “selling” Biden’s agenda is her job, not the media’s.

Actually, someone ought to remind the media of that as well. I’m not sure which outlets Pelosi has in mind, but almost all of them have embraced Democrats’ $3.5 trillion wish-list without hesitation. The New York Times said in a Sept. 18 report that the passage of the bill would be a “presidency-defining victory” reminiscent of former President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society. CNN declared on Sept. 14 that the bill is the “last hope of achieving meaningful climate action.” And just this week, ABC News attacked Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who opposes the high cost of the package, for “taking a hard turn to the right.”

Despite what Pelosi thinks, the media have been covering for her, Biden, and the entire Democratic agenda non-stop. The fact that Biden’s plan has still been so unsuccessful, then, is really a testament to just how bad it is, and perhaps also how bad Democrats are at this. They have a free multibillion-dollar propaganda machine, and they still can’t accomplish a thing.
