Maneskin Scores First Rock & Alternative Airplay No. 1 With ‘Beggin”

Maneskin's "Beggin'" tops the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart.

A week after capping a seven-week sprint to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Alternative Airplay chart, Måneskin‘s “Beggin'” hits the pole position on the all-rock-format, audience-based Rock & Alternative Airplay tally dated Oct. 16.

“Beggin'” rules the latter list in its eighth week with 5.6 million audience impressions (up 7%), according to MRC Data.

It’s the third song to take eight frames or fewer to crown Rock & Alternative Airplay in 2021, following Foo Fighters‘ “Waiting on a War” (eight weeks, March) and twenty one pilots‘ “Shy Away” (three, May).

Måneskin is the first act in 2021 to land its premier Rock & Alternative Airplay ruler and the first since All Time Low, whose “Monsters,” featuring blackbear, hit No. 1 in September 2020. “Beggin'” is Måneskin’s second Rock & Alternative Airplay entry; “I Wanna Be Your Slave” hit No. 28 in August and ranks at No. 47 on the latest survey (708,000 in audience).

Concurrently, “Beggin'” spends a second week at No. 1 on Alternative Airplay and is bubbling under the Adult Alternative Airplay ranking. The song by the Italian quartet, which won the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest with “Zitti e buoni,” continues rising at pop radio, bulleting at its No. 6 high on Pop Airplay and pushing 16-14 on Adult Pop Airplay. It breaks into the top 10 of the all-format, audience-based Radio Songs chart, jumping 12-8 with 50 million impressions (up 21%).

On the multi-metric Billboard Hot 100, “Beggin'” hits a new No. 16 best, its radio reach augmented by 7.3 million U.S. streams and 4,500 sold. With the climb, it matches the peak of the original version by the Four Seasons in April 1967.
