Arkansas is in the midst of a long stretch of games before the bye week after next week’s game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

On the SEC coaches media teleconference, Sam Pittman discussed how to manage practice time and contact.

“We have hit. We’ve gone good-on-good and we’ll continue to do that, but we’ve made some adjustments at practice because of that,” Pittman said. “We were a little beat up heading into the A&M game, so we cut a few reps there. We’ll cut a few reps today simply because we are a little beat up. Normally, I wouldn’t do that. We’ll cut just a few, but not many.”

This week, Arkansas takes on Auburn, and the backfield combination of Bo Nix and Tank Bigsby.

“Bo Nix is a superstar,” Pittman said. “Tank Bigsby is as good as any running back in the nation.”

Last year against Arkansas, Bigsby had 146 yards on 20 carries.

“We have to tackle him,” Pittman said. “As you’re watching tape, there’s a lot of people who have trouble with him. … We just couldn’t get him on the ground (last year). … He’s just special. I don’t know him personally, but he’s special. We’re going to have to get more than one guy around him.”
