The Times is out with a new report that claims Manchester City is the clear front runner for Erling Haaland. The news comes as Dortmund and Puma have seemingly teamed up to keep the Norwegian star in Germany.

Considering Puma also sponsors City, that seems unlikely, what is true is that Haaland and City do have history and it could play in the clubs favor. With a release clause already in place, all that needs to happen is City agree with Haaland on terms and super agent Mino Raiola.

That would include an already planned chat between agent and club as soon as January arrives to hammer details home. I do understand wages would be a problem and other reports peg that Haaland and his group are in search of one million pounds a week which would be way over City’s structure.

Would City do it? Perhaps, what is sure is Pep and the club leadership should make him priority number one come 1 January. That way it will get done in a timely manner.

Thoughts on new reports on the Haaland situation?
