Matt Ryan willed his Atlanta Falcons last Sunday on their way to a 27-20 win over the New York Jets. The win was huge for a team teetering on the brink of disaster now sitting at 2-3 on the season they have a team that could be headed in either direction.

With a favorable schedule and a franchise quarterback, this is a team that could claw its way back into contention. Yet when you look at the young defense and unproven receivers it seems just as likely Atlanta is in for another long season.

Any time this team does win this season it will be because of Matt Ryan. A quarterback who could find his way back into the MVP conversation this season.

A successful season for the Atlanta Falcons would put Matt Ryan back into the MVP discussion

Tom Brady and Kyler Murray are emerging as the early MVP favorites. As we head into week six the two players are firmly at the top of the discussion with Ryan rightly not factoring into the discussion.

This is exercise is to point out how Ryan can win the award this season going forward. So far he has been a top-ten quarterback but not the consistent MVP he is capable of being for these three reasons.
