Elon Musk puts Bay Area home up for sale — again — after Tesla HQ move

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has slashed the price of his last known California home by more than $5 million and put it up for sale again after pulling it from the market last month.

Musk’s re-listing of the Bay Area mansion for just under $32 million comes just days after the mega-billionaire announced Tesla will move its headquarters out of Palo Alto, California to Austin, Texas.

“Just to be clear though, we will be continuing to expand our activities in California,” Musk, who’s worth $227 billion, said last week at a Tesla shareholders meeting. “So this is not a matter of, sort of, Tesla leaving California.”

Musk confirmed in December that he had moved to Texas and his listing of his only remaining California home might suggest his commitment to operating out of Texas, though his other companies, SpaceX and The Boring Company, are both still based in Hawthorne, California.

Musk’s $32 million, 47-acre estate is just south of San Francisco. Musk first listed the 7-bedroom, 9.5-bathroom abode for sale in May 2020 for $35 million after he said he “will own no house” and sell “almost all physical possessions,” according to listing records.

He then pulled the listing in November of that year, before re-listing it again in June for $37.5 million, calling it his “special place.”

“Decided to sell my last remaining house. Just needs to go to a large family who will live there. It’s a special place,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO wrote in a tweet at the time.

But he pulled the listing again last month.

In both listings, Musk did not use a broker to help him strike a deal. Instead, he told potential buyers to get in touch with him directly to talk prices.

This time around, though, Musk appears to be going through Mary and Brent Gullixson, a realtor team with Compass.

The Gullixsons did not immediately return The Post’s request for comment.

The house was listed at its new price of $32 million on Oct. 11, according to listing records from Zillow.

The 109-year-old home boasts Bay views, a pool, hiking trails, canyons and a 5-star kitchen with space for a personal chef, according to the listing.

Other features include a ballroom, banquet dining room and a library with leather walls and a fireplace, according to the listing.

Musk had 12 other homes he’s offloaded over the past 18 months, including Gene Wilder’s estate — which he sold to Wilder’s nephew last October.

It was rumored that Musk was living in a 375-square-foot prefab house on the SpaceX launch site in Texas after he tweeted in June: “My primary home is literally a ~$50k house in Boca Chica / Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. It’s kinda awesome though.”

The re-listing comes just weeks after Musk revealed to Page Six, that he was now “semi-separated” from his longtime partner of three years, Grimes, after the two were leading two different lives.

“We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,” Musk explained.

“It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in LA.”
