Brutal beatdown of woman in Brooklyn caught on video; man, woman sought

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The NYPD is searching for an unidentified man and woman in connection with a brutal Brooklyn beatdown and robbery caught on video that left a victim with head trauma.

A 30-year-old woman was approached by the duo on Oct. 6 at around 3:15 a.m. in front of 211 Powell St. when the unidentified female punched her, causing the victim to fall head-first into a curbside planting area, according to an NYPD statement and surveillance video of the incident.

The unidentified woman then punched and kicked the 30-year-old victim multiple times in the head and body, causing her to go unconscious as the unidentified male took the battered woman’s purse, police said.

The man also swiped two Motorola cell phones from the woman, $50 and a neck chain before the pair fled on foot, according to police.

The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition, where she was treated for trauma to her face and head, the NYPD said.
