SI sanitation worker arrested for allegedly choking, punching woman, shooting gun in front of her

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police said an off-duty sanitation worker faces several charges after a domestic dispute in Staten Island Tuesday afternoon.

Jason John, 33, is charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal possession of a weapon, the NYPD said.

The Staten Island Advance reports John allegedly choked and repeatedly punched a woman he knew in the face inside a Staten Island home, firing a gun in front of her that struck a table and a door.

He is set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
