The Squid Game is taking over the world. It's probably bigger than the NBA right now. Make that bigger than anything in the world of pop culture. Even Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis couldn't keep themselves from talking about it during a postgame conference following the team's 111-99 preseason game loss to the Golden State Warriors Tuesday night.

Without a doubt, the Squid Game is a highly engrossing show on Netflix, but can it top the suspense the Lakers will put their entire fanbase through once the 2021-22 NBA season begins? The Lakers are still winless in the preseason. They're 0-5 with only one game left on their schedule, and that's against the Sacramento Kings on the road on Thursday.
That said, what happens in the preseason usually stays in the preseason. It's all just glorified exhibition games meant more to make NBA fans salivate for the real season than anything else. It's also why LeBron James and Anthony Davis looked pretty cool after the loss to the Warriors that they even had an exchange about the hottest thing on Netflix.
Which also makes us wonder what show is Russell Westbrook watching right now?
In any case, Lakers fans can start binging on LA regular-season games beginning Oct. 19, when the team hosts Stephen Curry and the Warriors.
