The Rolling Stones Remove Hit Song From Setlist

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– If you are a fan of The Rolling Stones and got the chance to catch them during their recent performance in Charlotte, you may have noticed one of their hit songs was missing from the performance. The group says it will no longer perform their 1971 hit, “Brown Sugar“.

The song, which the group says is about the horrors of slavery, has received criticism. Fans have not heard the song on the band’s current tour.

The hit song’s chorus talks about a non-consensual sexual encounter between a slave master and a young female slave.

The Stones say they never played a show without including that song, until now.
