Ruby O'Donnell wants her character Peri Lomax to catch out crook Fergus in Hollyoaks.

Peri and her girlfriend Juliet have gone through a terrible ordeal, some of which they don't even know about yet, at the hands of Fergus and his lackey Timmy due to illegal surveillance cameras being installed in Peri's bedroom.

Timmy's involvement in the so-called Operation Bluebird came to an end in Tuesday's first-look episode (October 12) when he was shot dead by Fergus once Peri and Juliet teamed up to get a video confession.

Speaking to Digital Spy following Timmy's death, Ruby O'Donnell touched on Peri's state of mind now that she knows that Timmy had been spying on her (although she's still not aware Operation Bluebird has been streaming from her bedroom camera).

"It makes Peri feel violated. It's such an intrusion of her space," she said.

"The cameras in the house are one thing, but the camera in her bedroom is a whole other level of creepy. It makes Peri feel disgusted and really self-conscious. It's just gross and horrible. She's really upset."

While Fergus hasn't been caught out yet for his involvement in Bluebird, Ruby is hopeful that Peri can be the one to ultimately bring him down.

"This has been a long-running story and Peri has been on this Bluebird site for a long time. It's going to have to come to a point where something is revealed and Peri ends up finding out about it," she said.

"I hope Peri can find strength somewhere to bring down Fergus and the Bluebird site, but obviously if she does find out, it's going to be a whole other level of violation for her and Juliet. It'll be very difficult but hopefully we can all get together and bring him down because he's horrible!"
