Trocação Franca: Charles Oliveira on Dustin Poirier and still not feeling respected as UFC champion

MMA: UFC 262-Oliveira vs Chandler Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira wants respect.

The Brazilian 155-pounder, who puts his UFC title on the line against former interim titleholder Dustin Poirier at UFC 269 on Dec. 11, joins MMA Fighting’s Portuguese-language podcast Trocação Franca to discuss the highly anticipated fight.

“Do Bronx” also weighs in on Justin Gaethje’s “quitter” comments and Islam Makhachev’s rise in the lightweight division, the fact that he’s not considered the No. 1 lightweight on MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings, his life outside of the cage, and much more.

Brazilian journalist Marcelo Barone of Globo stops by to debate the latest MMA news, including Patricio Freire’s decision to vacate his Bellator lightweight belt and whether or not Bellator needs to sign soon-to-be free agent Kayla Harrison to give Cris Cyborg a real challenge, as well as Oliveira’s star power.

Trocação Franca will drop weekly every Wednesday with different Brazilian MMA stars and journalists to debate the hottest topics in the Brazilian combat sports world.
