Cheektowaga Police looking for woman who allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl

Police say the incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Sonic on Union Road.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — The Cheektowaga Police Department is looking for a woman who allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl last month.

In a tweet, the police department said the incident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Sonic on Union Road.

A spokesperson for the department told 2 On Your Side that the incident happened during a touch football game for girls. During the game, two girls started fighting, which eventually spilled over into the Sonic parking lot.

One of the girls contacted a parent who came to the parking lot and tried to break up the fight. Another woman intervened, allegedly kicking and punching a 14-year-old girl and then sitting on her.

Police say the 14-year-old was not seriously hurt; however, she was taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Anyone who recognizes the woman captured in the photo above, or has any additional information about this incident, is asked to call Detective Schmitt at 686-3973.
