People that are not yet vaccinated have been labeled as vaccine-hesitant by those that have been vaccinated, sometimes without knowing the real reasons why some individuals have yet to be vaccinated or what their reservations are about not being vaccinated.
Tiffany Jones-Smith, the host of On the Record with Tiffany and the CEO of the Texas Kidney Foundation spoke with Dr. Junda Woo, the Medical Director for the City of San Antonio's Metropolitan Health District.
Dr. Woo provided various reasons why people have either not been vaccinated or have reservations about taking the vaccination. Dr. Woo stated that some reasons are as simple as "some people make work 2 to 3 jobs and may be unaware of times and places they can get vaccinated." Dr. Woo also stated that some were waiting for the vaccine to become FDA approved." She also stated that some may be totally unaware of how accessible vaccines are now compared to earlier this year.
Dr. Woo admitted that early on, she was hesitant herself about the vaccine until she was provided more information about it. She says that many people have legitimate reasons for not taking the vaccine and that people that are hesitant to take the vaccine, may just need more information about the vaccine.
Although Dr. Woo stated that she believes everyone should be vaccinated at some point and they at looking into being able to provide incentives for those that may be a little hesitant for various reasons.
