John Calipari visits Alier Maluk

Maluk is just a freshman, but Calipari is getting in on this one early.

John Calipari Big Blue Drew - Sea of Blue

It’s never too early to start recruiting the next prized prospect at Kentucky, as John Calipari did exactly that Tuesday, according to Andrew Slater. He was in to see 2025 recruit Alier Maluk, out of Pittsburgh, which is Calipari’s backyard.

Maluk is a 6-foot-10 freshman forward from Imani Christian Academy. He already holds offers from LSU, Seton Hall, Pittsburgh, and Texas A&M. Maluk has also heard from Florida State, Georgia, and Georgetown.

At just 15 years old, Maluk has potential to blossom into one of the best players in his class by the time he is a junior, including filling out his 6-foot-10 frame, as he is just 178 pounds currently.

Maluk is also the cousin of Denver Nuggets forward and one-time Kentucky Wildcats recruit Bol Bol, according to Brad Everett of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Maluk has a similar play-style to Bol, a point forward, with good handles, length, and solid shooting all while being able to go down low.
