Investigators with the Coffee County Sheriff's Office arrested a 47-year-old Douglas man, Jaime Maldonado Garcia, last week on one count of child molestation. According to the arrest warrant, investigators believe that Garcia, 47, committed the offense between January 1, 2019, and May 1, 2023, at a residence located in Douglas. The warrant also claims the act was "with intent to arouse and satisfy the sexual desire of said accused."A copy of the current Coffee County Jail roster shows that Garcia was booked into the facility on Monday, May 1, at 7:59 a.m. At the time of his arrest last week, Garcia was also charged with one count of hit-and-run, the duty of a driver to stop at or return to the scene of an accident. However, the charge is not included in the documents that were filed in the Superior Court of Coffee County.
