Jungle Cruise 2 Release Date, Cast, Spoilers, Trailer And Everything We Know So Far

Disney gave Jungle Cruise 2 the green light several months ago. The undeniable success of the first movie -- not to mention its more than $211 million box office earnings -- is enough for the entertainment company to order another installment.

For starters, Jungle Cruise follows the adventure-filled cruise of a riverboat captained by Frank (Dwayne Johnson), where he leads Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) and her brother MacGregor (Jack Whitehall) through the dangerous waters of the Amazon river. The brother-sister tandem is out in search of a mystical plant. While they discover the beautiful Amazon river, they also encounter various threats.

Jungle Cruise 2Producer Shares Plot Details

One of the producers of Jungle Cruise 2 sat down for an exclusive interview with Screenrant recently. Hiram Garcia spoke about the probable plot of the upcoming sequel and how it might lead Frank and other adventures to distant parts of the world.

Hiram shares that there is a possibility Jungle Cruise 2 will be filmed in several different locations. He stated:

"Now that the fans [have] embraced us and have been asking for a sequel, we really start to have fun! We've met these two characters who share amazing chemistry and the world is at our disposal. We're talking about a lot of big, fun concepts that take us to different places in the world. Who knows what mysteries and supernatural things these guys are going to encounter? I can't give anything away, but I can tell you we are bringing the whole team back."

There is an offshoot chance that Jungle Cruise will be the next Pirate of the Caribbean. Supposedly, only a stand-alone film, these two Disney movies' success has led them to add more sequels to their franchise.

Jungle Cruise 2Cast And Release Date

The original cast from Jungle Cruise will be on board in Jungle Cruise 2, including Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, and Jack Whitehall. Jaume Collet-Sera will also be returning to direct the sequel.

Disney has not yet released any announcement for the official Jungle Cruise 2 release date. Currently, it is still in pre-production, but, most likely, the movie will be made available by July 14, 2023, or July 5, 2024. It could also be part of Disney's big holiday films, which means it may be released on Decemberber 15, 2023, or March 22, 2024, on the Easter timeframe.
